I’ve had a really rough last like…month, and Dressmaker has given me such a sense of joy and calm, and an appreciation for both seamstresses and indie developers. It’s allowed me to flex some creative muscles without tapping into the same energetic well that making comics draws from.

Not the top Steam review of Dressmaker making me cry this morning!

It sounds like hyperbole to suggest the current administration WANTS measles to become common again but I can’t think of much they’d be doing differently if they didn’t want that. (I think some of them really are eugenicists who legit prefer disease spread to prevention; others just don’t care)

David Ho@davidho.bsky.social

The CDC denied a request from California, Hawaiʻi, Oregon, and Washington to validate a high-volume measles test, citing “other priorities.” 🤨

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

There's one man I've wanted to give a copy of Banned Book Club to since 2020. Moon Jae-In. But I couldn't because he was busy being president. It was the last panel of our book! Today, we got the chance. But that wasn't the best part.

Q: Will you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood? El-Sayed: Yes. Why are you asking the question? Do you assume that I wouldn’t? Q: Yes, because I have not heard you disavow them yet. El-Sayed: Have you disavowed them? I have not heard you disavow them yet.

What was that line about how the Constitution is not a suicide pact

Larry the Cat@number10cat.bsky.social

If an amendment to your constitution results in children routinely being shot in school then it's time to amend it again.

This is exactly what ICE said: "Parra-Hernandez ran in front of an ICE vehicle and was struck." Now watch the video. They're no other word for it: They're lying.

Eric Umansky@ericumansky.bsky.social

Watch an ICE agent run down and then run over a man. The man was was then writhing on the ground, saying "You broke my leg! You broke my leg!" Agents didn't help him. And btw, the man wasn't the target of their operation.

Hi, I’m a sighted alt text user! Here are some reasons I use it: - Slow Internet on an airplane - I’m over 40, I have no idea who that celebrity is - Bluesky broke images again - My vision sucks and that text is too small to read otherwise - Conveys further context and authorial intent

⚠️ Border wall contractors plan to remove thousands of sacred saguaros (ha:ṣañ) on sovereign O'odham land starting Monday — Indigenous People's Day. Tadai Me:i Camp calls supporters to join in prayer and protest on the Tohono O’odham Nation.

No More Deaths | No Más Muertes@nomoredeaths.bsky.social

We stand with the Tohono O'odham nation against the construction of a second border wall that would further desecrate Quitobaquito Springs and 62 miles of sovereign land. For centuries the Tohono O'odham people lived free of barriers, surveillance, and militarization.

After more than 200 years, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is coming home! I am proud to have worked with Chairman Rupnick to secure $1M to build a Tribal Government headquarters here, on Illinois soil. Honored to have played a small role in this long-overdue homecoming.

Bahahahahahaha Of course it was Ottumwa. Delicious. Next they need to invite the Transcendental Meditation folks from over in Fairfield to give the invocation. Small town rivalry and bigotry, two great flavors for the council to enjoy. But first, my hat's off to the gentleman from the Temple!

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1
