If somebody that I knew said this kind of staggering horseshit then not only would I not publicise it, but I would check to see if they have the correct number of remaining meds and intervene if necessary. Have you been kicked in the head by a horse?

A novel I started writing 10 years ago (and released 4 years ago) had an AI that controlled people's perception of reality through their ocular implants meant to do exactly this. Those who did not have the implants were the opposition to this AI's godlike control. Others saw them as insane.

Mark Zuckerberg is at a cognitive disadvantage. Seriously, put all these tech oligarchs on Celebrity Jeopardy and it'll be obvious how fucking ignorant they all are.

Why do you just keep repeating what he says? These people are perpetual liars, and they are absolutely abusing the fact that they can feed you whatever bullshit they want for free publicity to pump up their share prices. Try doing even one iota of actual fucking journalism.

Yep, we would not be able to grade the looks of men and how they are at sex. Oh, wait that was what he designed Facebook for, and it was women on campus. Guy is a maga weenie boy.

“Guy who sells things says ‘ everyone who doesn’t have this thing will be considered a loser’”. How hard is it to detect bullshit and treat it as such?! The media sites have utterly failed to look at the reality of LLM companies and instead report on them as if there is no profit motive!

Hey, remember when Philip Morris paid the Heartland Institute to make up a bunch of studies that showed that secondhand smoke didn’t have any ill effect? Guess which political party uses the heartland Institute to support a lot of their policy.

If Steve Jobs had been presented the “half baked” metaverse this imbecile put forward - the meeting would have been cancelled within 5 minutes - his parking wouldn’t have been validated -the VP who set up the meeting fired and Steve would have forgotten both their names before days end. #stupidity

Devices that help you think so you don’t have to do it yourself - calculators, generative AI, etc. - may put people at a technological or time advantage, but they are not giving people a *cognitive* advantage. They’re mental shortcuts that deprive your brain the practice of doing the work itself.

They don't even put people at a technological or time advantage. People who use AI to help code think it makes them 20% faster, but it actually makes them 20% slower.

Sure, but that’s not true across the board. A calculator undoubtedly makes most people faster. Formulas on excel make people faster and more accurate. Writing form emails with AI is faster, as is note taking.

[pivots to smart monkeys flyin' outta people's butts] people without smart monkeys flyin' outta their butts may one day be at a "significant butt-smart flyin' monkey disadvantage" compared to those who do use the tech
