confrontation between a Seattle Storm co-owner and two teenage fans, against the backdrop of the broader debate over transgender participation in women’s sports.

They need protection from men claiming to be women but parading around with their male genitalia on display, which has happened a number of times around the US. It's monstrous that anyone would defend this.

Being a bigot is a low-effort grift. Washed up comedian? Mid-tier athlete? Children's author who had literally one idea? Try being a bigot! It may absolutely tank your credibility, push away genuine fans, and be generally morally reprehensible, but you'll get some sweet, sweet chud money.

Sophie Cunningham is not good enough to say things like this and last in the WNBA. Owners and other players have already concluded she's more trouble than she's worth, especially with the international players coming to the WNBA. Look what happened to Chennedy Carter who's a lot better than her.

Atlanta players went so hard against Loeffler that she sold the team. It might be time for a leaguewide action by players. Until every player is the same height, weight, ability, etc., there is never equality in sports to begin with.

I’m a Storm season ticket holder and my tix rep will be hearing my anger and disappointment at the Storm’s apology and my support for Celeste and how when renewal time comes (soon) I’ll seriously be considering whether I want to continue my support if they’re going to capitulate to bigots.

I fucking love women’s sports. Ask me about soccer! Season tickets! International vacations solely for them! But if supporting the WNBA necessarily includes giving shit to trans people? FUCK NO. Not even going to go 5 miles to your bigot game.

The transphobic shitheads under advisement had much better seats than I did at that game, so they were few in number but big in bucks. It hasn't been an easy year to be a Storm fan, but Sophie and her friends made the experience outright gross.

Completely sincere response here -- don't discount the tremendous benefits that girls get from learning that they can be strong, assertive, healthily competitive, good teammates -- all things i had to fight for growing up in the 70s. Sports aren't the problem. Spectators and owners are.

What is with these? Goddamn people who do nothing but go after the trans community Jesus Christ this shit is getting really old.

Gave the game away buddy. Shouldn’t put “antipsychotics” in there, for future reference. It sells your plan down the river, telling us what the next move is after the trans ppl are ‘dealt with.’

You, as a fascist, ideally should have me (an antifascist) confused about who your next target group is, how you plan to target them, etc. But now it’s pretty obvious — next target group, the mentally ill, next targeting mechanism, same as this one — cage and starve healthcare.

Like ideally, I as a Jew in Weimar shouldn’t know that you’re going for the Roma after me. I as a socialist in Weimar shouldn’t know that your next move is going after the trade unionists, it makes it easier to defend trade unions against your attack.

Oof, you give in to these parasites now and they're never going to leave. I hope the WNBA enjoys obnoxious right-wing agitators, because they've just welcomed the whole clown care of them to use games as a backdrop for content creation.

It’s clear Rep. right wingers & Project 2025 are encouraging this divisive crap to further their plan to get rid of women’s sports. It’s the same idea with pushing gender testing of girls in kindergarten for sports.(with the bonus of them having access to little kids genitalia)

There's no such thing as "transphobia". Nutty leftists are trying to portray rational concern about men in women's private spaces as a mental illness. Thankfully, y'all are losing the public relations on this one.

V finds this claim only partially true. The owner was suspended for screaming at fans; while the fans held signs supporting anti-trans views, sources do not state the fans themselves made transphobic… Real-time fact-checks on your feed: https://veratify.ai Errors or comments: info@veratify.ai

The girls *said* she had told them that after we already know that anti-trans activists lie and exaggerate. That otherwise unsubstantiated allegation alone was enough to earn a fine and a suspension?
