The regime obviously thought they'd be able to take out a few dozen scary-queer-weirdo Antifa types in black masks and then successfully cow the rest of the Coastal Elite Liberal class into terrified silence: they were not expecting "totally fearless mass nonviolent resistance by entire cities."

It also sounds like at least some of them thought the cameras wouldn't matter because they were assuming that a couple of public executions would cause all of the resistance to run and hide.

i still think if they dragged this stuff out for the next 4 years, they may have actually pulled something off. But they rushed this shit quickly. Between DOGE, the tariffs and ICE, they just did so much bullshit in a single year. THIS is where they are at after a YEAR I seriously wonder what

The MAGA regime also really obviously doesn't know what to do with the fact that each time ICE murders somebody, the people they're trying to scare merely get more angry and more motivated to fight back.

And remain peaceful. I think they were ready for either a cowed and a subdued populace, *or* a dead ICE agent that they could make political hay out of, and are stuck with neither of those things, and don’t know what to do

Yep. Plus they gang-murdered a white guy who devoted himself to caring for Veterans and did it on video after taking his gun. One of the big emotional hooks on the Right is that they revere Vets/Soldiers and Vets/Soldiers respect them. Another ofc is the 2A. So Pretti is hard to stomach and spin.

Worse these are not barely english speaking brown skins unalived. As the we see one was a mother of small children who made a wrong turn and the other 2A self protected ICU nurse at the VA. So the argument about immigration dissipates into abuse of power and intimidation.

Narcissists and sociopaths tend to assume everyone acts and thinks like they do, that’s why “every accusation is a confession” keeps being true with them. So when they point a gun at someone they expect them to react like they would, cowed obedience.

What if we spent the last 25 years doing counter insurgency warfare and intentionally tool all of the wrong lessons while staffing a sub-par project 100k goon squad...

Like Umberto Eco put it, this is the reason fascist governments will always eventually fail - they are temperamentally incapable of accurately assessing their enemies strength

tbf, if military history says anything theyre not even the first ones. Like this is literally the same dumb idea that pops up in military strategy every war of "shock and awe will surely work this time"

We are not at the point of an insurgency but they have clearly forgotten the wisdom that if you have ten insurgents and you kill two, you now have twenty insurgents. Killing people makes them mad.

The MAGA regime has obviously not bothered to look what happens when you press the kinder Americans too hard. As when the South attacked the North or Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, rousing people in the US is not a safe or sane thing to do.

If you want a red-light example of that, check out the updated version of Project 2025 as it relates to the family. It tells women not to go to college or take jobs after high school because their responsibility in life is to marry a male and give birth to "as many children as God sends them."

Did 3 decades of school and mass shootings train US not to give a shit about gun violence or are we selfishly guarding our fundamental rights as humans with agency and those of our neighbors?

Since at least the moment Westmoreland and Kissinger started pursuing their “body count war” in Vietnam through literally today’s DHS statements, there has been a dogged refusal by the entirety of the right & center (including Dems) to internalize that you cannot kill enough people to kill an idea.

Single most established & universally accepted COIN principle: iron fist doesn’t work Also the single most established & universally accepted COIN principle: iron fist is the only viable strategy or you’re a pansy and a commie Dudes like Eric: idk why we keep losing, it must be (((Paymasters)))

I used to ask "Gender Criticals" how many trans folk they were willing to jail & kill & how many cis women they were willing to have harassed, beaten & arrested to get what they want & if they understood it still wouldn't work. Humans want to be human & will never stop trying to be seen as human.

This isn't true. There aren't many regimes that will do it left and the US government would collapse if it tried, but if you're prepared to kill massive numbers year after year, then it does work after a century or so. You can see it starting to in Tibet and Xinjiang.

Iron fist on its own doesn’t work (somewhat hilariously, RAND of all people did a truly remarkable and exhaustive work to demonstrate this; free link*). Iron fist actually harms your chances of success, but that harm can be overcome if surrounded by enough other factors. Sustaining *any* policy for

a century, unless you are Ramesses II holding absolute power for 66 years and basically the only guy in history to both hold absolute power that long and not absolutely stuff it up, takes tremendous political and cultural stability well beyond the confines of COIN policy.

The undoing of every Fascist movement is that their requirement of their enemies to be both weak and strong renders them totally unable to accurately assess their opponent's abilities. i.e. Leftists are a bunch of weak effeminate pansies who are also somehow going to destroy Western Civilization.

I keep connecting this to all of the No Kings marches, which seem to be mostly the same type of people. Were they not paying attention, did they think it wasn't real, or do they just not care?

I think the irony of “paid protesters“ is twofold: 1) In this economy, I bet there’s a good chunk of people who’d actually take them up on the offer 2) If there *were* paid protesters to bolster the numbers, there’s a good chance we’d have already ousted the garbitch fire administration

Obviously weren't expecting their agents to be so stupid as to execute, just, whoever they felt like either. Probably thought they might exercise a little discretion for some absurd reason.

Yep. The thing is, in places like MN there are just SO MANY more ordinary white people who are opposed to fascism compared to the relatively fewer radical left blue-haired trans Somali disabled lesbian lunatic art professors from Palestine. They fundamentally don't understand who the country is.

And not just any city––a city of Minnesotans. Unlike Portland (weirdos) or NYC (Coastal Elites), Minnesotans are are coded as "quaint, cute, a little odd––oh you betcha––but solid, decent American Volk. Marge Gunderson, dontcha know." The optics are about as bad as possible for the fascists.

That’s the secret of Minnesotans, which Marge Gunderson gets so right—they seem nice and affable, but there’s a core of steel and a strong moral compass. The affability is a way to grease social dynamics, not a sign of weakness.

The stunning part of it is that they don’t seem to realize that we have pride and place. The growing majority of us are not going to let a common white trash flippant little nothing no-count smegbag grifting convict tyrant get the best of us under any circumstances. It’s utterly preposterous!

In Project 2025, there was a specific plan to use targeted immigration enforcement as an escalation tool until they can declare martial law. Don't get me wrong. We must fight back. I'm just saying that any sign of shock at the resistance they're getting is just for show, and we need to be ready.

And also, if martial law was as effective as you seem to think it is, why haven't they done it already? What exactly is stopping them?

I'm just saying that everything we're seeing is in the playbook we read, beat-by-beat. We should be prepared for that next step. Preparedness is exactly how we render it ineffective, if and when it happens.

They created and believed their own stereotypes. I honestly think they are also shocked their blatant lies aren’t believed by mainstream people. They’ve been used to a gullible Fox News audience.

They were probably also counting on suburban moms to go with the "our communities are being overrun by murdering rapist illegals" narrative and support them.

My recollection is that during the "the Haitians in Springfield are eating pets" thing last year, most of the people of Springfield were like "wait what? no? they're good neighbors and are helping bring prosperity to the city? where are you even getting that?"

it's easy to tell the people of Texas that "Minnesota is being overrun with violent illegulz!" but it's hard to tell the people of Minnesota that when it's not true.

I wonder if the tech bros, healthcare CEOs, fund managers, and billionaires are watching — and worrying about what happens when people succeed and get a real taste for collective action.

Yeah just look at these assclowns. They’re just astounded that the normies aren’t having it and think there must be some diabolical machinations afoot.

MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.

Before president goofballs took his oath last january, I told my wife The telling time will be when the death squads murder people in the streets; would the administration allow the networks to air uncut footage. I didn't see the smart phone as the giant killer it is in this war. but it sure is.

They don't understand that people can think differently than them. They don't understand empathy or actual values. Their accusations that "no one would care about something unless it benefitted them" were self reports. It's apolitical to say that MAGA is composed of the worst of us.

i think a disturbing large portion of them believe "Antifa" is some kind of cellular guerrilla group like the Montoneros or the Algerian FLN. it's been a kind of meme or talking point since the Seattle G6 protests on gingrich-era talk radio. they think (((university professors))) are involved.

This came out of that big NYT article interviewing like 40+ FBI people about Kash Patel the one guy who was like "I tried to explain that 'Antifa' wasn't an organization, it was an ideology, and their protests were 1A protected, and then they fired me"

Idiots. I‘ve never felt more protective of my community than when ICE was active here (Chicago). You’re attacking our homes. They don‘t understand how not-sociopath humans feel.

well you see they thought the scary brown people were holding the innocent white masses hostage and as soon as the scary browns were under attack the whites would just close their doors and wait it out.,
