Surprised it isn’t covered with the gold plastic medallions that he slathered all over the Oval Office. Also, couldn’t get some fiberglass columns from Temu?

Yeah, I remaind deeply confused on what they think they're doing with this. When I first saw the plans I thought they'd fill these voids with some sculptures perhaps a relief and hadn't finalized that design, but I guess that isn't the plan. That base too, disgusting.

Those cutouts are the clearest sign the concept art is AI. They're weirdly asymmetrical with the other side. That and the way all the people in the background are walking left.

Like the Ohio State Fair, the arch is made of butter. And the Ferris wheel is from the local Carny fair. It’s rickety, and dangerous. And the barker has no teeth and a mullet. That’s America.

I Baudrillard’s sign order stages of “Simulacra and Simulacrum,” "Stage 3 masks the absence of a profound reality, where the sign pretends to be a faithful copy, but it is a copy with no original." A can’t decide if this is stage 2 or 3.

Even the concept art is just a lonely Ferris wheel and some random people milling around a mostly empty field. Which, kudos, they did accomplish their lameass goal I guess

Trumps DC arch will be the largest arch in the world and dwarf every other monument in DC except the Washington monument. He is WITHHOLDING that he will name it the Trump Arc …. only after it is finished … & too late to stop. It’s a monumental to himself.

“I think that the problem may have been that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf.” — David St. Hubbins, This Is Spinal Tap

This is like the "Atari Pac-Man" of miniatures, except worse — at least the game sold extremely well despite its flaws. So maybe the more apt comparison is to "Custer's Revenge".

Can we not with the "rushed and limited planning time" rationale that gets bandied about when one of these mediocrities is revealed? It's much more likely that everyone involved is just an incompetent grifter. See: The Reflecting Pool.

trump seems to not understand that presidential monuments only happen after the president isn't president anymore. and not all of them get monuments. only the best get them. what? you think nixon gets a monument?

You would still be floored by how much this likely cost the government. Will we every find out is likely no. Was it a no bid contract award, probably. How much did it cost to plate the oval office in gold? The flights to golf every weekend. The executive branch is spending like a sailor on leave
