Fairly sure it’s unintentional, but the end date on this mug being sold by the Smithsonian does make it sound a little like they’re saying America dies in 2026…

The way things are going, it just might be true… He renamed the Gulf of Mexico, so later this year USA could be renamed UST. United States of Trumperica. The other option is of course that the states that still are marginally sane secedes from the burgeoning fascist police state that he is building.

Yeah but now the guy in charge is threatening a hostile takeover of the Danish coffee shop because he didn't get a Customer of the Week photo (and I just went "oh my God", realizing that this is like living in the Family Guy episode where Lois goes on the war path for the very thing I just said).

Ya know, I retired from service there and was embedded in the culture. That is kinda disturbing and counter to the spirit of blah-blah-blah. -- But my last visit, I bought the disappearing Bill of Rights thermal mug... and the instructions basically said, Do Not Wash. So... I dunno.

has it not? Trumps latest letter implies military action against Europe, his Greenland plan ignores the existence of Nato, there is no functioning parliament in DC, the system of justice defends murder, media are controlled by a few and remain rather silent despite all that. Midterms may not happen

It is on life support at the moment. Unless more Americans are willing to take to the streets or participate in a general strike - America will die this year

I think it's time we ended the experiment of independence. You had a good run, but it's time you guys returned to the fold. It won't be all bad - you'll have to learn to count in 10s, but you'll get free health care, real food and more than 2 weeks holiday.

That’s accurate. The GOP have pointed out the Achilles heel of the American Experiment. And then deftly severed it. Our type of government only works when a principled electorate installs honest candidates. We now have neither. Fail.

What we are currently witnessing can be compared to a supernova. An implosion accompanied by a destructive explosion. The United States as we knew it no longer exists.

I believe Canada, Mexico, and the rest of Central and South America will be very glad to have back the name of their continent that was hijacked by some united upstarts a couple of centuries ago. 😏
