You misspelled corporatist hacks who are pushing back against non-corrupt office seekers, who actually want to make life better for the people they are hoping to represent, unlike people like suozzi, who feather their (and friends) nests and don’t give fuck all about their constituents.

Centrists only "decide elections" because DNC/establishment chokes out candidates who aren't corporate stooges. Pelosi got behind anti-choice Cuellar. Obama got Buttigieg & Klobuchar to drop out before Super Tuesday & endorse Biden to cockblock Bernie. People are tired of Dems who REFUSE to fight

No one can deny that those things happened. And it certainly isn’t a free democracy to do those things. So I completely agree with that part. But what you may be missing here is that centrist dem voters in general don’t like socialism or communism. And IMO those voters will stay home on voting day.

Screw the centrists. They had their chance when they had control of both chambers. They had a chance to codify and strengthen abortion, DACA, immigration, equality, wages, etc. They sat with their thumbs up their asses afraid to make waves. Now, Republicans have chainsaws, sledgehammers and guns

we just watched what happens in UK when a used-to-be center LW party just starts capulating on issue after issue for "mod votes". I bet dems lose midterms cause centrists would rather suck fascists D than truly help anyone/embrace LW base. Imo USA deserves fascism it gets electing leaders like these

Vote these 13 house members and those like them out of office. Only then will things truly change. Democratic Socialism is proving to be successful in NYC, and it's the path forward for the party, unless they want to keep losing to the MAGA regime.

It's important that the Democrats defeat the socialists so that Trump and the Republicans can continue the job of rolling back social security, labor rights, and a woman's ability to vote. The MAGAs are too stupid to complete the job, so they will need help, and many Dems are there to lend a hand.

Maybe the strategy is to win the House by 29 seats and not something like 19 or 9 and close the gap in the Senate Idk DSA is fine of course, but the craven/bizarre right will leverage it to the hilt maga shits desperately need a turnout of easily fooled voters who like RFK & gladiator fighting

Sooner or later we need to get away from the labels and look at what's inside the package. What do democratic centrists want and not want to do with power? What of the democratic socialist policies and objectives do centrists reject, and similarly what do they reject from republican policy?

Push all you want ya diet MAGA it is the people who will vote you out, because we don’t take lightly that in the middle of fascism you are on the side of the fascist, endorsing every trump candidate, yall need some self reflection, also it is hard to tell you apart from Republicans

"Jesus Christ. Run your own fucking campaign how you want. But don't go out of your way to give Republicans ammo against Democrats running in other districts. Such stupid assholes." bsky.app/profile/kevi...

Jesus Christ. Run your own fucking campaign how you want. But don't go out of your way to give Republicans ammo against Democrats running in other districts. Such stupid assholes.

when some MAGA candidates win it's people on the street interviews about what they saw in the candidates and "silent majorities". when progressives win it's interviews with the losers about how that not what the party stands for and "is it dangerous for progressive democrats to win?" 🙄

The main freeway through the most Republican part of Manhattan is named for the Antifa leader who said of the crypto, AI, and Wall Street thugs of his day: "They are unanimous in their hate for me — and I welcome their hatred.". Mamdani, AOC, and their allies are FDR's heirs, not Suozzi and his ilk.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Thirteen Democratic House members and candidates announced their support for a centrist initiative aimed at pushing back against the party’s tilt toward democratic socialism.

The centrists have been saying "Vote Blue no matter who" for a decade+. And guess what? The blue candidates this midterm include socialists, and suddenly the centrists aren't willing to vote for them. Compromise cannot be one-way.

You mean centrists don't want a dynamic, healthy and equitable economy built using the tools of both socialism and capitalism to create the maximum public good? Well then they're idiots.

It's important to note: none of their constituents wants them to do this. They aren't getting calls from residents about this. They are getting visits from lobbyists demanding they do this.

Democratic socialists are having historic wins, are extremely popular right now, and Mamdani in particular is doing exceptionally well as mayor in NYC. So of course House Democrats want to push back against the one good thing happening in US politics.

That’s exactly what we don’t need. Loser Democrats fighting with other Democrats make people hate Democrats. Instead everyone should be focused on beating back Republicans. FFS this is the dumbest 💩 ever. F@ck these people. I hope they get primaried.

Vote Blue until someone wins you don't like, I guess. The Democratic Party as it stands is completely cooked. The right doesn't want them, the left doesn't want them, even the center doesn't want them. They have never been less popular and they act like it's everyone else that's wrong. What a waste.

"Pushing back" against the will of the People is a really dumb with a b idea when your actual job title is "Representative." If they don't represent constituents, who DO they represent???

Remember W/McCain/Romney Republicans? Same thing happened to them is happening to these 'centrist' Democrats. The party wasn't able to mobilize a huge base of stay at home voters until Trump radically remade the R party. Then they won all 3 branches. Don't tell us about electable.

Big tent, dude. Let everyone in who hates fascism, loves democracy, civil rights, voting, accountability, and can win an election.

TLDR:Reps. Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI), Susie Lee (NV), Maggie Goodlander (NH), Josh Gottheimer (NJ), Laura Gillen (NY), Don Davis (NC), Janelle Bynum (OR) and Vicente Gonzalez (TX). Candidates Marlene Galán-Woods (AZ), Jamie Ager and Paul Barringer (NC), Jessica Killin (CO)& Bobby Pulido (TX)

1/ sadly, many of these "centrists" ran unopposed this year, or had only token opposition. But there is one race where we could make a difference -- if there was a push to do so. Paige Beauchemin is running against Maggie Goodlander in NH, and the primary is not until September. but Beauchemin

2/ is absurdly underfunded -- having raised only $19,000 to Goodlanders's $3 million. This is where we need people like David Hogg to step in with seed money, and people like Bernie and AOC to provide endorsements. Beauchemin is refusing AIPAC money, which makes her good in my book...

The centrism act doesn't win independents, because those losers try to not stand behind anything, and then get defined by GOPs who say the Dem supports (random unpopular thing). The Indys then vote against the Dem because they don't know what the candidate believes in and/or believes the GOP BS.

This is the kind of conservative Dem who would've undercut the New Deal and whom FDR would've had chased out of office in the next primary cycle by people who actually wanted to Do Something, and I think we should repeat that pattern this time
