Indigenous Americans ate better than the Europeans that arrived. Got plenty of exercise, fresh air, pure water, and slept according to the sun. Measles, smallpox, diptheria, influenza, and other diseases still got them. Lifestyle often helps, but it doesn't cure.

On the 8 hours of sleep, that is a fully modern idea. If you go back to Shakespreaian times or before people oft write about first sleep and second sleep. Since antiquity people slept for 3-4 hours, got up for two or three, then slept again for 2-4 hours. We evolved that way, it meant someone 1/2

Sorry but its not a RPG? It has like weapon stats but no leveling, exp, character builds or anything Its an adventure game, not a RPG. Otherwise Metroid Prime is also a RPG :P

That's ironic cause in a backwards way, because of these horrors my mental health has never felt better/clearer. These horrors have me LOCKED IN and ready to FUCKING GO in a way I've never felt before, certainly not to this extent. Our country, and our people, need us. We must not falter.

they are even right about the whole "if you get autism you cant even go poopoo anymore" thing because im autistic and its true they have to get some other guy to go poopoo for me because the vaccine autism made it so i cant do that no more

I don’t think there’s a single person in the world that wouldn’t benefit from enough sleep, healthy diet and regular exercise? I guess the amount of sleep/exercise can vary, but the general rule is basically universal for everyone

one of the big examples of this ime is that people tell you 'you need to cut the carbs out of your diet and get more protein' and like, yeah, no, that's absolutely true and it works really well actually

the big problem is that protein is kind of expensive but honestly seitan seems to be the big workaround/hack there; I can get a 25lbs sack of cheap white flour for like $13, and that's like, 5 x 5lbs servings with 225 grams of protein in each. Wash the starches out, and bam!

now it's not a complete protein on its own but you can get around this by adding like, a half pound of lentils to your daily diet (this will add another 50 grams of protein or so to your diet) and the end result is that you've got a really high protein diet for like $3 or so a day

alternatively, find where they sell cheap bulk chicken leg quarters and go for those. Trust me, they will have them around somewhere. I think with a cheap pasta press you could probably make a noodle bowl with chicken and washed-dough noodles that would turn out pretty good.

Nothing makes me more mad than when I go for my stupid little mental health walk, getting sunlight and fresh air like a goddamn houseplant, and realize I actually do in fact feel better.

Of course there is. But sometimes self discipline has to be pointed in one direction and it becomes easy to slip in another. Think of Star Trek shields. I have to spend all my time making money so my extended family can thrive and I can give back to my community in a time of societal collapse.

And that makes me want to munch at a level you probably wouldn’t understand. Don’t deny people things that help by imposing your own virtues onto them. We are all fighting our own battles.

wtf even IS healthy eating. what about the time I’m losing by not sacrificing sleep? (Is the AT MOST 6 hours of free time working a 40 hour job enough for anyone!?) Exercising, yeah, but sitting rules

I’m mad every day that getting in bed during the 9:00 hour actually results in me waking up well-rested. I recently realized that furiously peddling out my rage on an exercise bike helps a lot too these days. Disgusting.

This is the same tribe of people who freaked out when the Mayor of NYC wanted to limit the size of soft drinks. They made fun of Michelle Obama’s vegetable garden. They loathed The Let’s Move campaign.

You're missing half the information, though. Science was right about eating healthier, while Capitalism made nutritionless food cheap and yummy. Science was right about 8 hours of sleep, but Capitalism makes it impossible to regulate your sleep schedule. Fuck exercise across the board, though.

And then when we MAKE fun exercise, we're told it's not exercise.... "Zumba isn't exercise! It's just bouncing around!" ANYTHING THAT GETS YOUR HEART RATE UP COUNTS, YOU ROTTEN WALNUT. But we can't have nice, easy things. If it's not torture, it doesn't count.

This leads me back to my newest conspiracy theory: Republicans and Social Media purposely removed all dopamine-creating parts of life to drive us towards Social Media for most of our dopamine creation. Which is why the American Consumer is such a big bargaining chip with China. 🤦

Exercise is alot easier when you walk and bike vs being stuck in an expensive car for hours huffing exhaust fumes Another piece of anecdote that American Capitalism actively makes people sicker to make a buck.
