This comic is so wonderful and inspiring. And it's absolutely gutting while I watch cancer quickly take someone I love. Never stop making cartoons like this, nor living life

I've been following your work for more than 15 years? Wild. I'm so happy for the two of you that you've gotten so much time, and I hope you have many more years of getting old ahead of you both. What a beautiful comic this one is. I'm weeping over here.

My dad got me to follow xkcd and I remember him showing one of the first versions of this strip. I think he felt lucky that he wasn't in that situation but did have my mom. My mom has been dead from cancer for over a year now and I imagine his feeling has changed, mine definitely has.

This has very much been my life with my partner. They were diagnosed 21yr ago just after we got engaged. Almost died from complications but got in remission. Had very little money the first 15 years together but made the best of the trips that we could take.

From the beginning we told each other that “I want to get old and wrinkly with you” Now with incoming wrinkles and grey hairs we laugh about it typically with a tear in our eye.

Crying for how much this hits home. I kicked Stage 3b colon cancer 11 years ago and now I’m going through chemo for early breast cancer. The scanxiety, learning to live again, and knowledge that our time together is truly precious. Thank you for all of this and xkcd.

I often think of the old xkcd about how time is always surprising even though it's literally the most predictable thing in the world. My thoughts reading this were "I'm really glad" and also "I can't believe it's been fifteen years... Jesus, how long have I been reading this comic?!"

Already looking forward to the "Twenty" and "Twenty Five Years" comics. And the future beyond. (This might be my favourite xkcd comic, at least apart from "Free Speech" but for different reasons.)

I read the previous ones for the first time just this year and they stuck to me so much. I'm so happy we got to read the 15th, and I'm looking forward to the 20th

Growing old together is the aim. I managed to deny death 4yrs ago and while it's effects still cause health problems, I am so happy to be with my partner. Though reading this, I need to get out more.

As my husband says when I complain about the aches and pains and surgeries and accumulating damage to my body brought about by old age, "Better to get old than the alternative." Love and care to all those with illness and cancer and their families

I stopped following this particular story like 15 years ago, because I was certain that it was going to end in tears, and I didn’t have the emotional strength at the time to share your struggle. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to just now catch up on the last decade and a half. I am so happy 4u

Go to htts://xkcd.com and press-hold on the image. In most browsers, the alt text will appear at the top of the popup menu. In this case, it's reads: '"Want to feel old?" "Yes."'

I have been following xkcd for more than 15 years now. Seen every comic "live" and still sometimes click random. Always hoped that everything turned out well for you. So this one makes me really happy🤗 thank you for enriching my life three times a week🥰

I remember some of the earlier comics explaining how after cancer you no longer think in terms of next year or years in the future. You focus on now... Then my spouse was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma a few years later. She's in remission now... but I think I understand what you meant now.
