Getting lots of questions about login. When you login to bsky38.com you're really logging into your Bluesky account on their webpage. We never see your password. Bluesky can let other websites use it as authentication, similar to "Login with Google." The screen found here bsky.social/account

You run your website. You are privy to the login credentials while passing them upstream. You keep track of how many votes a user has cast and prevent a user from voting for themselves. But is that all you use it for, I wonder?

i would make this a bullet list instead in faq, reads more easily (demo'd) = The account permissions we ask for cover four things: - saving your votes - saving a campaign profile - uploading a campaign avatar - removing you from the nominees if you ask

There are 18,000 accounts with at least one vote and the only way to see the list is 38 at a time by clicking the "load more nominees" button? How about posting the whole list so we can scroll through, or at least allowing us to start from the bottom and go up?

If I were a foreign bot trying to convince people that the most fucked up dysfunctional accounts where the foundation of Bluesky, I would compile list like this and throw in a few legit accounts to throw people off my trail.

Not phishing... The FAQ explain how it works. The OAuth standard used for log-ins makes sure your credentials aren't shared bsky.app/profile/bsky...

this isn't run by @bsky.app but your account works like a google account where you can login to some sites like this one and it has to ask permission. this method of login is safer than app passwords, and those who know are impatiently await bluesky implemeting it themselves. re: 38 -

"Influential?" I'd go with nobody and think less of anyone who tried to track that. There are plenty of accounts on here I find entertaining or informative or thought-provoking. I cringe at the ones who think their job is garnering influence.

they can't steal your login details. they don't see your password - you're redirect to bsky.social to enter the password. the login method they use makes it impossible for them to do anything except what they ask. more details below!

it's like logging into a site with your google account! they have to ask permission first (and they show you want permissions they're requesting). and fwiw, we're all awaiting the glorious day @bsky.app themselves add this same login method. it's more secure!

Can you provide some more details about where you encountered issues? You enter your username on our website, it redirects you to your account’s host website (bluesky) to enter your credentials, and then redirects you back to our site. We never see your password.
