Over on Mastodon, which has a Kind of Person, I made these images to attach to help people manage replies. Album: flic.kr/s/aHBqjBdZ8F

In french, the black one, a little typo : "mon expérience vécue" (final "e" because "expérience" is feminine). Globally, french translations are excellent, and the idea is pure genius 👏👏👏

I can’t tell if these are meant to satirize OP tendencies or replier tendencies. But I don’t want to associate with anyone on either side of the implied discourse transactions

Also, ‘cause I don’t think I’ve said it in the dozens of times I’ve reposted these, thank you so much for making these! They’re a wonderful combination of hilarious, snarky, and actually useful!

Did you deliberately use the "Sie" for the German variants? Because on the German-speaking Internet, the polite and common variant is "Du", whereas "Sie" is considered impolite. (Outside the Internet, this is usually different).

OK.

How about "do not reply with a hackneyed joke that was stolen from another user of this website"? Although, on second thoughts, they're probably too serious to make jokes on Mastodon.

This is exactly why I walked away from Mastodon. By the mods standards on my original instance, the lived experience thing is extremely limiting. It was infuriating because they would use this while ignoring my lived experiences because my experience was not appropriate

... and here's the original (this is an observation / do not attempt to help / no reply necessary), along with another one.

I saw one of these in the comments and took matters into my own hands. (Note: I am not a graphic designer by trade nor do I know four languages. This was done quickly and dirtily and using Google Translate. If anyone wants to give me better translations I'll remake it.)

these are amazing and thanks for the collection. I want one I can hold up in response to other people's posts when they make a conversation not involving them about them: LOW-QUALITY ATTEMPT TO CENTER THEMSELF. DO NOT ENGAGE.

No, in fact I need to save these for whenever they're relevant. Thank you extremely much for rendering a valuable public service and I hope you don't mind the theft; I'll try my best to make sure you get the credit.

in french , "une "joke" " should be " une "blague" ". and better started with " Ne répondez pas" instead of "Ne pas répondre" : really more imperative. 👍 You did it nice !

God the open source one. I posted about Vivaldi on fedi and I put out a very strongly-worded warning not to suggest Firefox because a) I'm already using it. b) I'm curious about Vivaldi. There's a lot of worship around Firefox in particular, that feels very cult-like. Eugh.

WE DO THESE THINGS NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE SAFE OR EVEN PERFORMANT, BUT INSTEAD BECAUSE SERIOUSLY CHECK THIS SHIT OUT MIRI DOESNT EVEN COMPLAIN LIKE FUCKIN RIGHT

Mastodon must have gone downhill fast since the summer. I left because it didn't seem like anyone was there and I found it boring. Then I tried Threads and that went to hell in a hand basket super fast.
