He's absolutely failed to assemble a governing structure for the US, just corruption, chaos, and autocracy. Why do you think he can do anything for Venezuela after destabilizing it?

Shouldn't they have actually had a plan for this before removing Maduro? Why do we never learn from history? We literally did this in Afghanistan and Iraq

What fucking right does the US government have to go into a foreign country and set up a puppet government? NONE! This is blatant violations of international law. Cover the truth!

If Trump’s strength is casting complex problems as simple ones, his weakness is not actually grasping those complexities in the first place.

What the fuck are you talking about? Governance structure? There are not even any American soldiers in the country. America is not governing anything there.

You know what would be a really good story? One about whether Bondi has any actual chance of convincing a jury of the bogus charges against Maduro. Our own intel analysts said he’s not involved in the drug trade. Whoo, wouldn’t THAT be a story if a New York jury declared him innocent?

Hey, dummies, you ever think about checking with the the physical real world before printing fantasies about stuff Trump’s supposedly going to do that isn’t possible? We have no way of imposing a new government on Venezuela with the level of force projection we have on hand.

“…takes on the risk” ? Can we please have more realistic headlines? “Trump’s lack of clear plan for an interim Venezuelan government shows no lessons learned from Iraq nightmare” or “Trump’s Department of War has no clear plans for a peaceful transition”

FFS, Trump is not governing Venezuela, you dipshits. The same people are still in power, even if Maduro is gone. Sorta like how if Trump were finally to serve time for his 34 felonies, J.D. Vance and the GOP would still be in power. This shit ain't hard, people.

They clearly had no real plan. Not even an internally agreed-upon goal after the initial extraction. They mainly just wanted to look cool on Xitter and the military went along so they could play with their toys, apparently assuming that the higher-ups knew what they were doing. It's infuriating.

Good grief, at the least the BBC still lives in reality. They interviewed multiple experts who explained how fragile the situation is, how it could devolve so quickly into instability, violence, chaos and resulting mass migration. WSJ thinks DJT has a magic wand?

yes, Maduro & wife are out. But the Maduro regime is still effectively in power. That trump is "racing to assemble" an interim govt shows the complete incompetence of the trump admin to plan for "the day after."

"Fascist pedophile kidnaps leader after publicly extorting bribes from oil corporations. Leaves same government in place because they are morons, as we can see from the pics they posted of searching "Venezuela" on X. Media scramble to make this fucking criminal insanity seem cool and normal." There.

God our media sucks. He's a belligerent mad man who is destabilizing the world so oil companies can extract more wealth from others. 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼.

I don’t know if it’s better or worse that Palpatine-levels of authoritarianists are effectively nonexistent in reality. Just extremely stupid yet insistent morons.

At least in theory, there is a way to restore democracy to Venezuela, return it's vast oil wealth to the Venezuelan people, and reasonably compensate American oil companies for getting nationalized years ago. But, Trump and his cronies are much too greedy, short-sighted, and incompetent for that.

Huh. If this were a serious thing and not a chaotic, bull-in-a-china-ship, horse-in-a-hospital kind of thing, this kind of thing would have been planned way in advance, with people trained and ready to go. That this token level of competency is beyond this "administration" gives the game away.

That's one way to put it, seems to have nothing to do with reality and the last 12 hours of responses from Venezuela, but hey what are the odds the senile guy who lies literally daily lied today right?

You fucking HACKS. Trump has no idea what to do next. And if he and his eunuchs think they're gonna "run things" just like that, they are sorely mistaken. But then again, your only job is to whitewash every idiotic decision those thugs make.

No. They aren't. 1. Venezuela already has a government. 2. The U.S. has no legitimate authority in Venezuela. 3. The U.S. has no resources for governing Venezuela.

Racing to assemble? Isn’t that something they should have already had a plan for? And they have a government that still exists. Are they thinking they will just push them out by force and demand control of the whole country?

I have deplored the culture and behaviour of US for a long time. USers I've known tend to be selfish, grabbing for themselves without considering others, even otherwise nice ones. I have no idea how you are going to dig yourselves out from here. (Dismayed by my own, Oz government's response too).

You know we haven’t occupied Venezuela, we know we haven’t occupied Venezuela, and yet, here you are, either pretending to be total morons or deciding that your audience is full of morons. I’ll stop there because anything else I have to say will get me suspended.

Why??? There’s a bureaucracy and legitimate president and vp in waiting. Maduro’s in custody, change the locks, and give the new president/vp the keys. Easy peasy. But our criminal pervert racist president can’t do that without extracting some kinda PERSONAL gain. Hide and watch.

Now, I understand that the WSJ is unfamiliar with a government without a daddy figure, but many countries have governing structures in place that can take over in times of crisis.

What the hell are you guys talking about? Have you learned nothing? We captured and kidnapped Maduro. That doesn't mean we now control the government. Good god this is awful and embarrassing. Take it down

Except that the VP has officially become the president and denounced the US? Quit trying to make it sound like they’re doing anything except lying incessantly.

I dunno, it looks like the vice president of Venezuela is still governing her country just fine, and I doubt you'll get Venezuela to recognise any "interim governing structure" without boots on the ground to enforce it. You know, like in Iraq, and we all remember how well that turned out.

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 A governing structure, you mean a mass exploitation and extraction system of all Venezuelan resources. The MFker said he should get the 50M dollar bounty since it was his action that led to the capture. Everything is a grift, & the picture of grandpa racing, 🤣 🤣, thanks for the laugh

What are you talking about? How can Trump govern, directly or via puppets, a country that we don't physically control? This is all bonkers, why are you treating this as anything other than the mad thrashings of an incompetent would be Emperor of the Americas?

Holy shit. Even by your own internal logic your orange and savior and his gaggle are amazingly are amazingly incompetent. First they overthrow a government and then they get the idea that they should find someone to rob, I mean, run it?
