Of course they are frustrated, angry, frightened. We too! However, people do what they are able to do. You would never say "No good telling me you're sorry my husband died. Bring him back from the dead!" "Do something" is not useful if "something" is not defined and "Do" does not include "how".

Okay. Here's an idea: Organize a general strike. Pick a day next month and publicize it. Hit them where it hurts, paralyze the country. Just one day. Then threaten more strikes or a permanent one. How? Ask your unions; they should know.

I almost posted a list of the actions I take as an example but there's no point. Why be moved by the perspective of our country's victims, who are facing economic ruin and the possibility of war, when it's easier to get defensive over their call to action

Actually, for those who come across this who aren't interested in feigning helplessness. Contact your reps at every level, boycott companies on the right, protest, educate others/advocate, donate to Mutual Aid and organizations like the aclu, & get organized with your friends neighbors and coworkers

But Trump isn't a force of nature. The "world's biggest democracy" is powerless to remove him? Brazil and South Korea managed to do that

It's rather "no good telling me you're sorry your husband is threatening my daughter if you refuse to testify against him". Again, from the outside any protests against donnie have zero effect on what USA does and seem to be focused on internal matters.

‘Of course they are frustrated, angry, frightened. We are too!’ Your country is very possibly going to invade theirs, strip them of their culture the way you did places like Hawaii and you’re still centring yourselves. You want them to hold space for your feelings in all this?

"tell us what to do" jesus, you just want everything handed in a tray, no wonder why that country is in that state. There are plenty of examples on protests made in other countries. do some fking research on how to fix the mess of a country that you have (which is leaking to other nearby countries).

so, your country threatens one of its allies, you say "my bad, not me" and your responsibility is over. and if they reject your thoughts and prayers THEY need to come up with a solution? saying you're sorry someone's husband died when your city voted for the husband killer mayor means nothing

Also... it's a little presumptuous for them to say we don't see a difference between those protesting Putin and his war and Putin's regime. I, for one, am grateful for them all. I'd hate to lose'm.

A country is its citizens and inhabitants. The action of a country are performed by its citizens, in their name, with their money. You can claim that you do not have any more responsibility or duty regarding US's action than a stranger has to the death of a father, but that is not true.

That's not what I said, of course. It's easy to say "Do something". It's much harder to come up with what that "something" should be. Also, very it's stupid to assume that people are doing nothing. It's like telling poor people that they're poor because they're not trying.

if you are opposed to the descent into fascism happening in your country, you need to decide how much that means to you if it’s not worth fighting for, just admit it - say “fascism isn’t my first choice but it isn’t worth making my boss mad”

here’s how: 1. write every elected official in your district 2. general strike: everyone downs tools and takes to the streets EVERYWHERE 3. repeat 2 one day per week for 2 months 4. repeat 2 every day for as long as it takes 5. remember who did not show up

Of course there is something to do. Massive, unlimited strike. Soldiers drops their weapons. Marches over every Republican institutions. Administrations refusing to work. Those things should have happen long ago.

We are doing nothing so long as what we’re doing doesn’t eliminate the enemy within. There’s no credit given for fruitless efforts, we’re not children.

A planet is its inhabitants. The action of a planet are performed by its inhabitants, in their name, with their money. You can claim that you do not have any more responsibility or duty regarding earth's action than a stranger has to the death of a father, but that is not true.

The problem is, over the decades, the US systematically dismantled a lot of the institutions and communities that provided meaningful opposition to the far right in the past. Unions being gutted (and/or getting co-opted), COINTELPRO tearing apart orgs like the Black Panther Party, etc.

And an underrated component that's also more specific to the US: AIDS and how it was queer & farther-left populations who were decimated by it. A whole generation of elders was lost far too early, and it took decades for the US's grassroots left to learn how to organize well again

You're talking like this is some sort of hazardous events that happened outside of anyone's control. Who could have predicted that weak union and worker rights would prevent effective protest? That unchecked megacorporation would have tremendous political influence?

Do this. Ongoing nationwide peaceful protests in numbers growing to 12 million demanding the Trump regime resigns, until it does.

Foreign Bacall@absolutelyahha.bsky.social

“Anti-authoritarian movements worldwide that engage at least 3.5% of a country’s population in active non-violent protest, those movements succeed.” No Kings Day June: 5 million people No Kings Day October: 7 million people 3.5% of Americans: 11.9 million people

As someone who would be an ice target for being hispanic, didn’t vote for this, and does protest, I cannot do anything outlandish as it would further enable the right to escalate their terror.

I feel like Europeans have been constantly screaming at y'all to organize and at least attempt a general strike for over a decade now. But hey, I guess if Facebook, Twitter and all the TV channels filtered us out, I can see how you might have missed it.

American labor unions have been gutted and enshittified over decades, to a degree that i suspect most Europeans are not familiar with & would have a hard time understanding. But if you'll notice, there is indeed a scheduled general strike in Minneapolis now! First one since the 40s...

The issue is, as someone who's been involved in grassroots organizing for years, there always HAVE been people calling for a general strike. It's just that they're randos with none of the connections to make it happen, and oftentimes they make people put their names on a signup list

You want suggestions? I think this is what they're talking about. Unlike many countries we have a second amendment that allows us to bear arms against a tyrannical government imposing a coup d'etat violently yet we are too cowardly to do that. That's definitely what it looks like to a lot of people

Thats not the same. Dead is dead. Trump is not as unavoidable as death. German here. Every german citizen was guilty of not stopping Hitler. And i mean it. It got increasingly hard to stop him. At one point it began to be life threatening for resistance. US is not there yet. Yet.

Regarding how: Solidarize and form groups Bring life to a still-stand Dont obey in advance Speak openly. Like Ruffalo. I am sorry for you that you are forced to be brave. I am sorry for all of us.

Vote. Fight to vote if they try to stop you. Fight for your neighbor if they try to stop them. Vote and don't vote for a single Republican. They are running as Democrats too so be sure you know who you are voting for. A supermajority of Dems might not save us but we know what Rs will do.

This world would survive just dandy without the US, actually. The US is a big boy in its own mind, but it's a rampaging infant to the rest of the world. Whether it's a pariah state or simply dissolved entirely, it's only a minor influence on the rest of the planet as long as it's dead.

I appreciate it, but some of us are struggling to get medication.. some of us are being kidnapped in the streets.. if "sorry" is all someone can give, perhaps accept it, or help.

It’s not necessarily a need for sympathy. We did this to ourselves through years of disaffection, frustration, and complacency; it’s our job to fix it through information, voter engagement, and supporting legislators who are willing to actually do the hard work by putting their constituents first.

I'm an American who is sorry and embarrassed. I knew when we were dumb enough to put Trump back in the White House, we were going to deserve every bad thing that was going to happen to us.

Thats the only perspective that is important. Seeing amrikis here whining that "i didnt vote for him" or something along those lines is just pointless. When your military ( they will go through with it if asked) starts executing people on that island, that "sorry" will make you feel better?

For decades, all over the world, it's been "citizens are not their government", & that notion is respected in every democracy, & even from every democracy to people under authoritarian rule. I know binary & transactional logic is de rigueur, but it's intellectually lazy & more nuanced than this.

As a Swiss, I totally agree with the position of Greenland! Don't apologise, change something! First of all, get rid of the mafia klan that rules your country, and second, fix your rotten and corrupt democracy, and third, take care of your own country and leave the rest of the world to do its thing!

I suspect that this rando on Reddit is most likely a russian troll trying to demoralize Americans IMO. I really don't know WTF he's expecting us to do. Best tactic is to just wear down the Machine by the death of a thousand cuts. Sand in their gears until it grinds to a halt. WE ARE TRYING!

My thoughts exactly. FFS, the EU through people like Orban were as much as responsible for Trump as Putin. What has the EU done about Hungary.

Near as I can tell, what they think is supposed to happen is anti-fascists who are mostly anti-gun and anti-violence suddenly pick up guns and go up against fascists who are extremely pro-gun, pro-violence, have decades of training on us, but the anti-fascists still somehow win. It's YA slop brain.

This Sapotis asswipe can go to damn Minnesota and tell everyone there directly to their face that there is no distinction between them and Trump/ICE/Republicans, and that their fighting back against Trump doesn't matter. I'll sell damn tickets and popcorn.

How about every single moron toddler who wants to crap on Democrats and pro-Dem leftists, gets off their lazy worthless moron ass and goes and actually opposes the damn Republicans themselves, then. Go ahead, if you think you can do it better, then go do it already. Otherwise shut your damn mouth.

Yep, unfortunately corporate elites created slaves of debt that they are more worried about losing their newly iphones or cars than to protest like 1776 France. F'ing hell, I marched to the embassy in south Asia to vote for Carney - telling my wife to skip work and drive me there!!

The OP is from Sweden, which has the most racially segregated labor market in Europe. By that logic, should we say every Swedish person as racist? No? Then if they won’t help us, they should stfu and leave us alone as we try to put out our house fire. Not fun being painted by a broad brush, huh?

Canadian who's been saying this the whole time. Your words are hollow if you're just paying lip service to pacify your own guilt. Your actions mean more than your words ever could, because empty words are why you are here

except it absolutely is. this cocksucker is blaming regular people who worked within, and are still working in, the system they were handed, to avoid all this shit and were shouted down. and calling us "complicit". how the fuck is that not about me? i did my fuckin part. what do you want?

See, if you were *actually* knowledgeable about this stuff instead of just wanting to be mad, you'd know that we are doing *exactly that*. Settling land claims and reparations is an ongoing process and can't be done overnight. How's the US doing on that front? Or reparations to former slaves?

Also frigging purity tests for any Democratic candidate (particularly if they're a woman). "Ugh, Hilary Hawk. Hilary Not Likable. Ugh Ugh" "Ugh, Harris Hawk. Harris Police...Harris bad." *please note, I am a socialist who supports Palestine so don't start

As a Dutch, this is exactly what I've been saying. This is what we saw from abroad, just sheer unwillingness to accept that 6,5. Now they have nothing, it's their own doing and they still blame everybody else. Miss me with that bullshit, their not voting made my life more complicated!

Yeah, I've pissed a lot of the "don't blame me I didn't vote for him" people with "if you weren't giving full throated support for Clinton and Harris, yeah, you're part of the problem." My circle was smart enough to know better but oh, I'm an alarmist.

What exactly do they think we can do?. Why don’t the leaders of the world stand up to him and push back? They’re the ones who can do something. They have the power. They’re too weak willed. There’s nothing I can do but support anti-Trump candidates and vote.

Would also go for the reputation of America/Americans going forward. The world has been watching since 2016, mouths agape, thinking “there’s no way…” and time and time again, it has proven that it is a sick, dangerous, place based on its people and leaders, wielding a terrifying amount of power.

To be fair, they should hold their own leaders just as accountable. The world leaders played a part in this too. Many of them capitulate to trump's whims even to this day. Many of them simply didn't say no. The citizens sat with mouth agape the leaders did what they always do: circle jerk each other

It's funny, Europeans are majority white. You know, the same people who pillaged Africa? Enslaved people. Yet, you never give back. Taking and keeping like most peckerwood crackers. U.S. is a descendent of British imperialist barbarian murders doing what their parents "Europe" did.

I am one man. A country is nothing but dirt and I have no allegiance to no one. I did not vote for the dictator. If America burns for it so be it. I'm no apologizing. I don't owe shit for this madness.

If the rules were actually abided by, yeah then we COULD do something about it but currently we're powerless to stop our leaders We did 3 protests and it still didn't stop them, why the fuck would anything else do so

Have Americans really forgotten how Europeans felt about them in 2003? The horror at Trump today is identical to what people said about Bush in the day. Up to and including endless denunciations of his mental fitness for the office, his ties to religious fanatics and contempt for the rule of law.

Here's a thought: it's a childish, dogshit way to treat people, regardless of what country they're from. It's what the Nazis did. It's what Trump and MAGA do. It's fucking gross in those cases and it's fucking gross in this one too.

So, by taking this position, you admit that this is entirely about you having a "fair" target to dehumanize. Victim-blaming is wrong, but wait, I LIKE that THESE people are the victims, so now it's good. Y'all just want to watch Americans (who never voted for the orange cunt to begin with) suffer.

It sucks thats the way it is, but at some point you gotta look at the reality of the way people view things and act based on that. We should strive overall to not look at countries as monoliths with singular values, but all the fantasies of a diverse utopia holds progress back

Just ran into it on a flight home from the EU. My wife sat next to a Swede who was hostile after he initiated a political conversation in which she agreed with his viewpoint. We had to trade seats. I am not complaining, it's just the first time I've encountered hostility for merely being American.

I’m pretty sure we are hated in most normal countries and I can’t blame them. I prefer to vacation outside of the states (haven’t vacationed in the country since Trump’s first term) but that is probably off the table for now.

Prepare yourself as educated Europeans do before they travel. Learn how to say (at a minimum) hello, goodbye, please and thank you in each country’s language. Be mindful of your dress, mannerisms and vocal volume - the three things European find most objectionable about US tourists.

My friend, what you went through is nothing. I can guarantee that every Latino/Hispanic and some countries went through worse than this. You can get this experience and understand what real life looks like.

One of my best friends and a former boss of mine is from Sweden, and is a naturalized American citizen. I never met a more measured and balanced person, so my mileage varies. Incidentally, he became a citizen after many years of legal residence to vote against Trump.

The US has been bombing, invading, looting, and supporting coups around the world for decades. This vision of a benevolent empire was only shared in the hypocritical West. Now the masks seem to have fallen...

View from a Canadian: Electing him once was a national embarrassment. Not punishing him for his crimes and allowing him to run again was negligence of the highest order. Re-electing him ripped the mask off of how rotten the core of the US is.

Again though, what are we, as individual citizens whose elected officials failed us, are supposed to at this point? I can’t even get my neighbor to scoop their dog’s shit from the yard.

At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy nut, Trump DID NOT GET REELECTED! No one in half a century, least of all the orange menace, has ever won every swing state. He had Elon Musk and Starlink. "We have all the votes we need". "We have a little secret, maybe we'll tell you after the election"

As an American, I agree with this 100%. It broke me after Jan 6 that our Senate did not bar him from ever holding public office again. AG Garland should have moved his ass immediately to appoint Jack Smith so that he had enough time to put trump on trial for his crimes. And the 2024 voters 😒…

The literal only reason you do not have PP is because of Trump attacking your country. Without that, you would have a con government. Pierre also was pro-Venezuela attack and pro-most Trump things. Stop acting superior when you only dodged a bullet due to Trump.

I’m not angry with Trump, I’m angry with the spineless arseholes in the Senate and the HOR, or even the Generals who are prepared to risk world security rather than challenge a manchild who has lost his grip on reality.

i think a lot of folks both inside and outside america fail to understand that we have a controlled opposition party that did not want to beat donald trump and intentionally threw the election

My dad is American and my mom is Brazilian, we were raised in Brazil so we're always bashing the US and my dad was always like trying to bring some nuance but after Trump was reelected he just gave up and joined us.

Except he wasn’t actually elected the 2nd time. The election was hacked by Musk. It’s another shameful crime that this was never even investigated, when evidence was so clear. They even told us they did it. Most of us are not rotten to the core. So many are, sadly that’s true, but most are not.

the usa already had all the ingredients for this dissaster even before Trump first presidency, so I agree with you, they are showing their true colors to the whole world

I bet you supported Canada's "Emergencies Act" and the dictatorial response to the Freedom Convoy. Canada has experienced episodes of expanded executive authority that bordered on dictatorial. When the shit hits the fan Canada is not about freedom. Anyone with eyes in their head sees what you are.

I totally see that point, and completely agree with it. That's why it pains me when other countries spew bile at us for the stupidity and malice on the soil that we just happen to share with these douche nozzles.

You’re watching whiteness work. The U.S. never punishes bad actors if they are white. Robert Mueller & Merrick Garland gave him a pass because it’s better to go along to get along as opposed to taking their folks to task. There was one Spicy White in Jack Smith who would have given Rump the business

Yup. Just like Germans have spent 80 years being forced to apologise, so will Americans. You failed at reconstruction, and this is the result. Your constitution sucks, you elected a fascist pedophile twice, and y'all will face the consequences.

I've witnessed this here. My brother posted something in a political thread and some Canadian went at him like a rabid pit bull, blaming him for Orange Anus threatening Canada. I get his fury, but we hate him too, my guy. We all didn't vote for him.

Yeah, I know, and I'm trying! I'm really not blaming the gentleman for his stance. I'm recounting a personal anecdote to illustrate how extreme my country has become. There are a lot of us in the USA who are effectively without political representation right now. We're doing what we can.

Junior Year Abroad in England in 83-84. Amazing how many people were mad at me for Reagan. They were civil about it because they were, after all, British. But they saw that writing on the wall more clearly than I did. Since then, I've mainly used foreign media to learn about US politics.

like half of the people agreeing with this take and going "fuck you and fuck all americans for this" are unironically going "heh, should have picked Kamala Harris", it's clear you're only mad because Trump is RUDE about being an imperialist.

;3 well then go fuck yourself idk what the else you fucking want out of us bystanders why the hell are you blaming us when we vote and our votes aren’t listened to do you even know about the electoral college?

I have been saying this since they first started with us in 🇨🇦. Save your apologies, get off your couch, and do something about this mess you created. No one will save you (least of all us) so please stop asking and just get it done yourselves.

"OOOHHH HELP ME THEY THREATENED ME" Meanwhile Americans are actually being killed while you sit on your ass afraid because you decided to have no military in exchange for some free healthcare. You get what you deserve. Also you almost voted in your own Trump. Barely beat him.

No one cares what Europeans think about things they know jack shit about. Their main issue is they are afraid the EU will collapse (due to their own actions) and it will cause them to start doing world wars again. The only group to ever start a world war btw. The US never did.

Sorry, I don't judge all Iranians/N. Koreans/Russians based on their leaders. Punishing a people for their leaders' crime is pretty shallow. Even if 90% of us are calling for blood, we can't fight the billionaires who control media, politics, and economy. When you got a fix for them, I'm all ears.

I literally said the exact same thing yesterday. The fact that international people don’t attack the people in other countries with terrible leaders just shows me they are xenophobic against Americans.

You do realize that we are afraid for the future of our countries right? I can’t believe you said a message written when we are afraid and feeling vulnerable lacks critical thought. You completely lost the point which is: telling us you aren’t one of them isn’t something we need to hear right now.

But this is the same thing on and on. Last week i just watched the Ken Burns Vietnam war series. The US seems to go back to the same place, dems and reps on the wheel. The problem is just deeper than the leaders.

You can choose be offended by some generalization from someone that is being attacked by you. Oh boy, not a critical thinker. Ouait. What you cannot say is that you cannot do anything. This is what Germans said about Hitler. Maybe not voting for him twice is something you could have done.

This analogy pisses me off because when Germans had Hitler in power, their options were either comply or die, and plenty of people who didn't like the way they treated ANY minority were sent to concentration camps too. Is there really a choice if the other party can just kill you for dissenting

Also, voting districts are gerrymandered in favor of republicans in rural areas and are decided by the representatives for those districts, so blaming us for shit we couldn't control is already a massive presumption that doesn't get us any closer to a solution

As an American, I find this kind of thing annoying. Yes of course not all Americans agree with Trump’s actions. Question is, what are we gonna do about it?

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT US TO DO ABOUT POLITICIANS WHO REFUSE TO LISTEN? Shoot them? Great, let's trigger a fucking massacre following the invocation of the Insurrection Act, and cause economic chaos anyway! No matter which direction we take, the global economy WILL tank.

Here's another thing you Europeans don't get: Our country, by acreage, is bigger than all of Europe, the UK, and Greenland combined. Expecting us to start a fucking revolution from coast to coast is patently ludicrous. This shit only happens where power is concentrated, and that's D.C. and New York.

D.C. is a literal fortress. Expecting the American People to successfully rise up against a clearly broken and abusive government is not going to happen, and it will very likely end in failure because our military, our national guard, our politicians have been trained to treat lives as expendable.

This is not a viable viewpoint to have. The only viable option Europeans have to respond to U.S. aggression is to resort to the economic nuclear option. The U.S. Treasury Bonds. Can't have a military if you can't pay for it.

I’m not angry with Trump, I’m angry with the spineless arseholes in the Senate and the HOR, or even the Generals who are prepared to risk world security rather than challenge a manchild who has lost his grip on reality.

I was wondering abt this. Can't be easy waiting to be bombed, killed or exciled at any moment and peeps going oh just wait for midterms and sorry didn't vote for it, to make themselves feel better🤷‍♀️ Show you care. Call you representatives and demand action. Make everyone you know do the same.

Pretty important difference that 80+ million people have voted against this and have fought the Trump admin on every front. Including the people actively resisting an ICE occupation in their city. Minneapolis, Chicago, and LA are all in a similar situation to Greenland.

I believe they haven’t had the same kind of state terror imposed on them because Trump is trying to actively punish blue states for voting against him. That isn’t to say they aren’t having their own problems, they just aren’t enduring a military occupation.

Leftist in Louisiana here, ICE is patrolling Lafayette as we speak & is certainly in the laeger cities as well. It's pervasive, but the amount of blowback is proportional to the amount of pushback, & you dont get much pushback when most people in a given area are tolerant of their presence.

What is happening in the US now could happen anywhere when the propaganda is flooding us, especially through social media. We are all in a very difficult situation right now due to the political situation. We all need to do our part to get out of this nightmare as unscathed as possible.

I don’t understand this perspective. I am a lawyer. There is absolutely nothing the average American can do to oust Trump. There is no mechanism for it, period. All 3 branches of govt are corrupt, and that’s something the Founding Fathers did not contemplate. Should we take up arms?

I think they are finally getting around to rebuffing Trump. The fact that they expect us to engage in Civil War, when nearly a million Americans died in the last one is irrational to me. The last Civil War was more than a century ago and it was that destructive. Imagine doing that again now.

I've found that people generally don't consider American lives to be worth anything. Witness how many people told marginalized American groups we should accept Trump as a punishment for not doing enough about Gaza, even though said groups have 2-10x or more as many people as the population of Gaza.

Note how these people always conveniently gloss over the little minor detail that the people who are "most armed" are very specifically the *conservatives* who are *on the side of the fascists*. Weird how that might be, oh I dunno, a really important factor here.

Like, sure, I here in anti-gun MA who has never owned a gun or trained with one and is pacifist am totally taking up arms against the pro-gun militias in the Deep South who have trained for decades and think nothing of killing anyone who crosses them. That will totally work successfully out for me.

Yeah, all that fantasizing about using the 2d Amend. to defend ourselves from a tyrannical govt. But when the tyrannical govt. came, they forgot their pledge and joined up. I am black though, a former prosecutor and a different kind of liberal. I am armed to the teeth. I don’t trust the majority.

I don’t get it. We also have the largest military and law enforcement in the world. And he’s commander-in-chief. They want us to engage in civil war? That’s a huge ask, particularly when the opposition party are liberals. When was the last time any “first world” country had a civil war.

The bloody break up of Yugoslavia 1992 - 1995? Those who broke the Iron Curtain in 1985? Civil war is not something that anyone except extremists want. But chaotic Balkanisation of the US is a real risk outcome with such a polarised society, we fear for you.

Again, weird how they refuse to acknowledge right now the right-wing has control over the overwhelming majority of the violence capacity in the US. You can't even go "asymmetric warfare" because you know who's the best at that? That's right, the pro-fascist right-wing militias, that's who. Whoops.

You’re blocking ‘international’ people? Those of us around the world whose very peace and livelihoods are threatened because the US decided to reelect a madman?

When they are smug in their joy of people suffering, when they say we should die to fight, when they say we deserve this. Yes I’m blocking. You want us to feel for you bc you can see the fire in the distance, meanwhile our house is on fire.

This is honestly pretty stupid. I don’t view Russian or North Korean citizens negatively and would admire those who oppose their authoritarian leaders. I always assumed everyone would

This post reminds me of what was on my mind CONSTANTLY during the 2024 election campaign. “We have to do something while we still can.” Now, our power is diminished in light of the complicit Congress and courts, but there’s still hope and we’ve got to make 2026 the time!!!

Americans need to elect their representatives that have a spine to vote on what their constituents want and not play lapdog to a dictator wannabe and megalomanic 🇬🇱🇩🇰🇬🇧

Can someone explain why Greenland? And why are we forcing immigrants out while replacing them by taking over other countries? Greenland 🇬🇱 respectfully and peacefully for your sanity, America doesn’t really want you. You don’t deserve this.

IT helps move the US away from NATO and into the hands of Russia. That is the entire plan. Trump doesn't give a shit about Greenland.

Honestly, any American right now worried or upset about what the rest of the world thinks of them has missed the fucking plot and needs to pull their head out of their ass. Bigger things to worry about.

Did y’all notice that we are getting bullets in the face for trying to do something? Do yall understand that this is by design? They keep us terrified while they come after the rest of the world. We don’t know what to do? It’s like a freight train out of control

I’m not angry with Trump, I’m angry with the spineless arseholes in the Senate and the HOR, or even the Generals who are prepared to risk world security rather than challenge a manchild who has lost his grip on reality.

No. Fuck your excuses. Renee wasn't shot dead for "trying to do something". She was shot for existing in the vicinity of ICE. Your choices aren't personal risk in resistance vs. safety in compliance. Your choices are to try, preserve your dignity, and maybe live vs. comply, and be punished anyway.

You definitely don’t get how it is. It’s not just ICE. Be clear I live in a deep red area and IVE never personally seen an ICE agent in my entire life. The people I’m afraid of live in the my neighborhood, city etc. They are dangerous. /1

When I go to the store people are carrying military rifles on their back. When I protest, it’s actually very confrontational with these people. They’ve been brainwashed into the “bad democrat” narrative. And they believe it with their entire soul. They want us dead and would kill me if they could /2

Name a successful revolution that wasn't violent. Also the US literally has more than one fun per person and people who aren't the government outnumber the government thousands to one. Stop waiting for someone else to come and save you.

I don’t think folks realize that ICE and the police are basically both domestic paramilitaries with the full power of the government behind them. Like fight a cop in France you get whacked with a baton, fight a cop here you get run over by a tank.

Who is waiting?!? I fight the fight I can every day. What do you expect us to do? This ain’t the movies. I still have to work 12 hours a day just to eat. If you think this will end in anything but a blood bath, you are seriously mistaken

FYI, it's primarily the conservatives who support the fascists that love the second amendment. The people who oppose the fascists also generally oppose the second amendment in favor of gun control. So we cannot "use it" without them using it better than we do.

Europeans have been practically screaming at you to organize and go on strike for a decade or more. But your corporate medias branded us some variation of "idiot woke communists causing the ruin of western civilization" for the last 30 years, so I guess our opinion didn't mean much at the time...

But we DID! A lot of us! Worked our ass off while the Russians and Fox News flooded us with bs propaganda. Maybe you should have dealt with Russia when we were warning you, huh?

"dealing" with other countries is different, because they have nuclear warheads pointed at you instead of handguns. That's why fighting from the inside is so much more effective. The US isn't gonna nuke itself. You have the power to do something without incurring like 20 000 000 deaths...

Misdirected anger...this person is seeing for first time what we've been dealing with for years and they still don't even know the depth of the derangement. Should we blame this person for everything the greenland govt ever does? No Do we blame all russians for Putin? No That's the difference....

dummies trying so hard to ignore the universal truth that the working class of the world is all on the same team, and the governments and capitalists of the world hate us all

Only ~1/3 of eligible Americans got off their arses to vote against this monster, after spending 4 years watching him ransack the place. Now he's literally threatening war on their most loyal friends. There does come a point at which the rest of the world is entitled to express their frustration!

As an American, this is a battle I'm intimately familiar with. The butthurt fellow Resisters who feel the need to waste time and energy defending themselves from blanket aggression. "But I didn't vote for this!" cool. Then they weren't talking to or about you. Focus people! Focus!

I see no harm in apologizing while it's going on. And who knows when "after" will be, if ever, or what "after" even means. And I don't think anyone apologizing is putting a requirement on it that they have to accept it. If some people don't want to hear it, that's fine.

When I say “Russia,” I mean the government, media, and supporting oligarchs and part of my contempt for them is knowing how they treat their own dissenters. So no, it’s not one big blur. If this particular Greenlander can’t distinguish one American from an another, that sounds like their problem.

We all treat them like this and they're bein💀in the streets, taken to ICE camps, trafficked, tortured, gouged eyes, causing infants to die. most every fucking other suffering minority which is still a lot of people in the US pays for what (a large portion of) fascists do. Thousands in ICE camps. BTW.

As a proud Canadian thank you. Proud to have a forward thinking leader who cares about us and stands up to bullies. NEVER NEVER NEVER give in to Donald Trump, he has no honor or dignity, or humanity. He will steal your country out from under you, then laugh and call you names while you suffer.

No wonder. Trump has lost the plot! He is unhinged! He is doing Putin’s bidding. He takes Greenland while Putin takes Kiev. He is a traitor to NATO, o the world of diplomacy and ethics.

I mean, I've participated in protests, I've written my leaders to complain and I'm willing to do more but it's not like it's that easy.

I get telling us to eff off, but there hasnt been a less popular political position in our country’s history and none of our politicians seem to care. If the interests controlling our president want Greenland, they will get it AND the wars that follow— and they will be all the merrier for it.

Also interesting how many Americans excuse themselves with "I didn't vote for Trump", and not "I voted for Harris" You don't need braindead conspiracy theories like "Elon rigged the elections", they are simply lazy

As a Latin American, if someone from the US wishes to apologize, they'd better start from the beginning: the Monroe doctrine, all the political interferences and interventions, the US-funded military dictatorships, etc. Trump is only doing much more explicitly what former presidents had already done

Actually I’m heartened when I hear about Russians who don’t like what’s going on with Putin. Even if they’re technically ex-pats. I know it doesn’t produce some change, but it’s nice knowing a big population block isn’t all drinking the fascist koolaid, or have callously checked out of reality.

Given the total failure of the Democrats, the judiciary, the armed forces and GOP to stand up to this ridiculous lunatic, I’d say the whole fucking lot of em are culpable. Some people in Nazi Germany didn’t vote for Hitler, but that didn’t matter much at Nuremberg, did it?

Yes and if we start a war I'd understand that I might be bombed. However I'd not be worried about being tried for war crimes due to trumps decisions.

If you are not actively engaged in resistance, you are complicit. You have time go to protest. You have a few bucks to send to a non profit. You have a phone and can call you reps every goddamn day. If you are just going about your life waiting for the next election, you are part of the problem.

And, to be clear, I am absolutely part of it. I am to blame too. If you are out there in the streets protesting, doing mutual aid, helping people every fucking day, you are the ones who are part of an incredible few who is not complicit in this. You are goddamn heroes.

You do realize the pro-fascist right-wing controls: The military Law enforcement Most of the private gun ownership Most of the trained militias Most of the weapons manufacturers AKA the fascists control most of the conventional AND non-conventional warfare methods. You do get that... correct?

I wish I could like this post x1000 Unless you are doing everything within your ability to change things i don’t wanna hear your apologies. I will support you but YOU HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELVES

Counterpoint: maybe we should all have a more nuanced view of the citizens of other nations. I have no quarrel with the people of Russia, but hate Putin. I know there are a lot of good people here in the US, but I hate Trump.

People usually start getting that perspective only once their own country starts doing shit they feel ashamed to be part of. Until then baseline perspective is "bad country = bad people". So, welcome to the "bad people" club.
