A lot of people don't know this, but when you brush a cat, you are legally required to show them the wad of cat hair that came off of them and tell them "this is enough for another whole cat"

My personal theory is that when matter passes through a black hole it emerges as cat hair. Having to regularly shave a Persian has done nothing to shake my opinion on this count. The cat in question, post shave.

Knowing her food intake effectively to the gram, and having to pick up her shit every morning, I cannot see how conservation of mass plays unless the hair supply draws on an extraneous matter source.

In our jurisdiction, when we brush the dogs, we have to arrange the loose fur in the shape of another dog and then ask the brushed dog if they want to have a play date with the loose-fur dog. We do this because it pleases the dog to think they've grown a friend.

Yup. Especially when they are a long hair I’ve never had anything other than short hairs before this pair the long haired I could make a Maine Coon from his hair

I have 2 1/2 Maine Coons from the same litter. One got all the MC genes and the other got all the other genes (i think probably tabby or asian shorthair). Main Coons are one of the top tier cat breeds for sure.

I love them. Plus probably big enough to kick the dogs ass when he tries to hump them. I imagine brushing yours out would give enough hair to make a cougar or something :)

I got quite a bit of hair cut recently. The hairdresser cut one big chunk off before she washed it and showed it to me. Now I know how cats feel.

Mimi is going to groomer tomorrow. She's part feral due to the first couple years of life. We can't brush her at home. We try but.... She's completely calm at the vet so hoping groomer goes okay too. Need to try grooming gloves. That should be a good idea

🙂‍↕️ yes. This is a cats' right. And if this is not done they,in turn, have a right to throw up wherever they please. Preferably right in the middle of the hallway at night.

This is a BDSM service scene between master and pet. After the pet(human) says "this is enough for another whole cat", the cat(master) must give the haughty look that communicates "and you'll do it again tomorrow you filthy little furdumpster". Then, aftercare. Or biting. Maybe both. Probably both.

Back when I had a wife and two cats, I used to suggest to her that we knit a sweater from each cat’s hair and then put that sweater on the other cat and wait to see what happened. She never went for it. I don’t think my idea contributed to the divorce though.

Same with double coated dogs. Also you can pluck the fur chunks that are hanging off when they blow their coat and show them as if you did street magic and pulled a coin from their ear

You don’t enjoy the company of a semi feral Maine coon, do you? That was of hair is at least two whole other cats and a wrap suitable for Marilyn Munroe. Assuming we can ever untangle all of it…

Legally, if a cat coughs up a hairball, you have to freeze it, then, when they knock something off a table, you have to throw the frozen hairball at them to remind them that both acts are equally unacceptable .

I have come to the conclusion that the hair was never really ON the cat in the first place. It's in a more or less strong orbit around said feline: Schrödinger's probability cloud.

There are two people in my town (that I know of…) who will spin yarn from your collection of cat/dog/chinchilla/aardvark/tribble fur. So, no, you’re not coming off as weird, just as “beginner” :)

Whew we are definitely opening the law in this case. Every week after brushing June Bug we show her the hair and tell her this is enough hair for another cat. She proudly sticks her butt up in the air and prances off, delighted and feeling pretty.
