this is, in a very real sense, the most correct post of all time, insofar as it captures the full essence of Officially Sanctioned Reality

this is "have fun being poor" rhetoric in a techno-optimist skin. never mind that you could set off every nuclear weapon on earth right now and earth would still be more habitable than the moon or mars could be.

but wouldn't a portion from an index fund ALSO end up making the boring ass vanguard funds infinite, because of how numbers work?

oh no i'm gonna be in the permanent underclass with a smaller infinity than the wise manager of a skidoo dealership

There are definitely people who perceive of Bitcoin as having some objective physical value derived from all of the past electricity that went into mining it, and that furthermore, when it's all been mined, owning a % of the total will magically grow when all the world's economy is forced to use it.

Furthermore, owning a piece of Bitcoin, or SpaceX shares, or whatever, is such a solid investment that if you really buy into it, you'll not only be able to retire early, but you'll also have acquired "generational wealth", enabling your future progeny to be idle aristocrats who don't have to work.

The other way around. Sell asteroids to people. Some of them have metals that are very rare on earth that could be used to build all sorts of new things if they could only be got back to earth at a price that isn't completely uneconomical.

For me, price is the last concern. The odious person that ultimately would gain most from my investment is reason enough for me not to do so.

I'm starting to feel that although the death penalty is a horrific nightmare and it is barbarism that it is stilled used, that politicians, or billionaires deserve it. The state shouldnt kill individuals, but once you have the power to shift whole economies you lose that privilege.

Interesting notes about No Escape: -Ray Liotta is imprisoned for killing his superior after being asked to kill civilians in Benghazi of all places -it was supposed to occur in 2022 or 4 years in the past now.🤷‍♂️

Something I’ve really been on since at least Trump 2 is that opposition to the death penalty is no longer tenable. The only options left on the table are permanently punishing someone or having the maximum punishment for conservatives being less than 8 years imprisonment in weeny hut junior prison.

F Scott Fitzgerald once commented it's the mark of a first rate mind to be able to hold 2 contradictory ideas in one's head simultaneously. For me it's knowing the prison abolition people are 100% correct and also we're going to need to imprison a lot of people to save our climate and humanity

Prison abolition IS morally correct, these people need to be killed. Nowhere in “Prisons are Obsolete” does it say “Don’t shoot the nazis as much as you can until they’re dead forever.” “Prisons must be abolished” and “Elon Musk must be Slimed to the highest degree” are not contradictory.

Make no apologies for the terror. You don’t want to. They are making you. You are an abolitionist! Your ideal society involves no carceral justice at all! Which means, they are truly THAT bad that you, again, an abolitionist, have no option but to make them an exception.

Yes, space is infinite, but is also expanding, so most things will always be inifinitely far and hence unreacheable. The "observable universe" is a real limit. I guess only *really* high IQs know this.

lol. reminds me of a prediction for ai’s impact on gdp i saw recently that factored in the possibilities of human extinction by malevolent ai god or benevolent technological singularity, so it was just a graph that said in 10 years the gdp will be somewhere between zero and infinity dollars

WELCOME to the First Annual Most Infinite Race, where (as expected) Space is comfortably in the lead and should win ea - wait! What's this?? I don't believe my eyes - it's Humanity's Capacity for Dumb Shit! Coming up hard behind Space as they head down the final stretch! It's too close to call!

theres always hundreds of "to be fair, you have to have a very high iq..." posts from obvious bot accounts like these every time some new shitcoin or crypto thing happens and within a week it crashes like everyone said it would and these guys still dont understand why no one takes crypto seriously

As a former Deals(TM) guy, let me just say that your stock popping 100% after your IPO means your IPO was mispriced. Now, in this case, the bankers were probably trying to be responsible, and couldn’t justify pricing in “anything Elon touches is gold” moron market sentiment.

See money is infinite because it moved to the Fiat Trump system and that is based on what ever MAGA imagines. If us haters would just let go of perceivable reality, we would finally see the infinite Trump train and the money in it. Sadly we will fall off a lot of invisible cliffs suddenly.

We have finally reached the point where the ongoing clown car and regulation free zones of crypto trading, “prediction markets” and just straight up gambling have blown back into and fully infested the “proper” stock market. We are about to relearn why people bought all those tulip bulbs

Well if there's one thing i learned in my time on the internet it's that one-sentence-line-break posts are almost always correct.

I am choosing to believe very strongly in the Dead Internet Theory these days because the alternative is that these people are real and that's too depressing to contemplate for long.

Nope, only the amount you invest. Though I'd like to see this guy's take on that scam company that let you name a star and even gave you a pretty certificate and map for finding it.

It's also wild that these people are like the underpants gnomes in South Park. Ok, let's say for the sake of argument that all this idiocy is true... how is it profitable? So profitable, and so soon, that it justifies this valuation?

Assuming this is a pump and dump, and that's a good assumption, I have no idea how these brokerage firms don't end up sued if they make even a dime off of this. The class action writes itself. These kinds of buy ins should come with heavy warnings because individuals who buy into IPOs are born rubes

They can sell after 15 days. They got it at a better price than it's currently available at. It just depends on if people will try to frontrun the 15 day period ending.

Even if you accept the idea that there is infinite economic value from outer space, the poster assumes SpaceX would have and maintain total domination over all of it. At that point, where SpaceX is effectively the one universal government, why would your US dollars/non-voting shares mean anything?

"space is infinite so SpaceX's growth is infinite" i think this guy specifically should invest all his life's savings in this and never withdraw i'm sure it's a great idea

My actual IQ test puts me solidly in the above average to superior range in all areas, so I'm going to say that this guy has no idea what intelligence means or how it is measured. However, believing that financial growth can be infinite because space is infinite is 3rd grade reasoning.
